Our Vacation July 2003

Carol and I took our annual pilgrimage to Nashville, TN in July. We also made a few side trips including one to the Smokies. Mom, Dad, Carol and I went to the Biltmore Mansion in Ashville, NC and were amazed that one man should have that much money. Below are a few photos of the mansion and surrounding gardens. A truly beautiful place...

One of the most stunning features of this estate are the gardens located near the home. Here are a few pictures of the trees, flowers, pathways and the gardens.

Another feature of this estate was the pathway you walked on to get to the buildings and grounds. You were in the woods until you broke out viewing the grounds.

As we were leaving after a long day    yes we were there...

And as if the walking we did at the Biltmore wasn't enough, we hiked the trail, round trip, from Gatlinburg to the Smokey Mountains Visitation Center the next morning. It was oppressively humid.
